Mexican Sterling Concha Shell Butterfly

Not your typical butterfly pin from Mexico, this lovely brooch is 2 1/2 inches at it's widest part. In addition to the colorful Concha shell, the brooch has black inlays which may be glass, but I'm not sure. It is marked "Heco (not Hecho) en Mexico, 925". It also has a symbol inside the circle of those words, which I've not been able to identify. It might be two "C's" for Carlos Castillo.
"Vintage" means that an item is not recently made, may have been used or worn in the past and usually only one is available for purchase.
