Jewelry in this category is a "reflection" of pieces seen in Renaissance portraits from 1400 through the early 1600's. Reflection items are not exact reproductions, but they are as close as possible with available materials. See individual items for specific information.
During each century from 1400 into the early 1600's, jewelry styles included the simple to the elaborate. These pieces represent those worn by the nobles and upper class: pearls in abundance, semi-precious and precious stones in cabochon shape (smooth, rounded top); cameos; gold and silver colored metal chain and settings and the appearance of faceted stones. Included are reflections of Tudor jewelry and Elizabethan jewelry. See Renaissance Jewelry for more information on period accurate jewelry.
Necklaces, collars and girdles can usually be lengthened or shortened, and most earrings changed to clipbacks. I would be happy to create a similar item for you in colors to complement your SCA or Renaissance costume. Not all original design elements may be available. Contact me at: jewels@illusionjewels.com
